Dow Coating Materials (DCM) is showcasing its coatings solutions for pipeline corrosion protection which respond to the increasing rigours of offshore oil and gas exploration in the Middle East at an industry gathering in Abu Dhabi.
Business leaders and technical specialists of DCM will be on hand to discuss how the company is working with regional coatings formulators and other energy partners to drive anti-corrosion technology forward at the IQPC 5th Annual Corrosion Management Summit being held between 19-22 September.
Innovations for higher-temperature protection
In light of the pressing needs of the regional oil and gas industry, DCM will be focusing on further developments in fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) coatings for pipelines both at the Dow stand and in a technical paper. “Innovation and Proven Solutions for Corrosion Protection from Dow Coating Materials” – which will be presented on 21 September 2010 by Rezaul Haque, Dow Coating Materials technical sales manager for Middle East and Africa – will delve into advances in new resins for high gloss transition temperature fusion bonded epoxy, and innovations in fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) powder coatings for enhanced performance at reduced cost. The presentation will also highlight DCM’s use of molecular modeling techniques to develop new coatings solutions.
Omar Ayoub, Dow Coating Materials sales director for Middle East and Africa, explains, coatings manufacturers are expected to work closely with industry partners in today’s exacting environment. “The whole oil and gas industry is facing a challenge: to increase efficiency in operations and yield in exploration, while reducing the risk of shutdowns and spills,” he said. “As a result, pipeline and equipment corrosion protection has become more critical, especially as we’re dealing with more extreme temperatures and harsher conditions. What this means is that we’re all working towards the same goal, and when we combine our experience in pipeline corrosion protection coatings with the expertise of regional formulators and other customers, we can deliver the most timely, effective solutions to this market.”
