QatarEnergy announces 15-year LNG supply agreement with China’s S&T International

QatarEnergy will supply one million tons per annum of LNG to China

QatarEnergy announced Wednesday that it had entered into a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) agreement with S&T International Natural Gas Trading Company Limited (S&T).

The agreement will see QatarEnergy’s LNG producing affiliate, Qatar Liquified Gas Company Limited, supply one million tons per annum of LNG to China over a 15-year period starting in late-2022.

“We are pleased to welcome S&T into our family of long-term LNG customers and we are excited to work with them to help fulfil their long-term LNG requirements,” Saad Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, the president and CEO of QatarEnergy said in a statement.

“This agreement marks further expansion of our customer base in the People’s Republic of China, which can count on Qatar as a trusted and reliable energy partner,” he added.

Al-Kaabi went on to thank Sheikh Khalid Al Thani, the CEO of QatarGas, along with the working teams from both QatarEnergy and LS&T for concluding the agreement.

The LNG deliveries under the agreement will be delivered via Qatar’s fleet of conventional, Q-Flex, and Q-Max LNG vessels, which will allow S&T to receive the LNG quantities primarily at the Tangshan LNG Receiving Terminal, the statement read.
