Global logistics firm DHL has extended its DHL Economy Select service into Iraq.

The new service will complement the existing time definite services and will serve countries across the GCC and Levant with a slower transit time offering.

“No one knows the Middle East like DHL, and as we continue to expand our network and services, we continue to provide our customers with more cost-effective options. The new Day Definite service will provide unprecedented logistical solutions in Iraq” commented Nour Suliman, CEO of DHL Express MENA.

DHL Economy Select has been successfully tested earlier this year and will now link the GCC and Levant regions to Iraq, for the very first time, with an integrated road and air network.

“The new service will eliminate weight and size restrictions into Iraq and provide an economically attractive solution to customers who ship less urgent and heavier weight consignments.” continued Suliman.

DHL was the first logistics company to establish operations in Iraq in 2003 and since then, has expanded across the country with 18 Service Points and 3 main gateways in Iraq’s key cities; Erbil, Baghdad and Basra. DHL Express Iraq currently operates 117 vehicles that handle on average 16,000 shipments per day, and is considered the number one specialist for logistics in the Oil and Gas industry, providing a daily door-to-door service to most oil and gas fields in Basrah.
