SK E&C has made strong stride into the renewables and clean energy space, with a reecent announcement that it would speed up the process to secure certified emission reduction credits in Korea and Vietnam.
This would allow the company to receive emission credits from the UN in proportion to its reduction in emissions, which the company can use or sell. SK E&C also registered a renewable energy generation project in Vietnam, and last year signed a memorandum of understanding with a solar power company to secure projects in this field.
“The registration of the two programs at home and abroad are meaningful in that they will speed up the process of securing emission allowances through renewable energy projects,” an official at SK E&C said.
