Tendeka secures three-year Middle East contract

Tendeka will supply 30 ICDs in 12 wells

Completions solutions company Tendeka has secured a three-year contract for the supply of down-hole inflow control devices (ICDs) in the Middle East. The company has a proven track record for the provision of completions and reservoir monitoring products, systems and services to the upstream oil and gas industry. This contract is Tendeka’s largest to date for the installation of their proprietary ICD technology in the Middle East.

The award, which was made by a major MENA operator, will see Tendeka install approximately 30 ICDs in 12 wells. The initial contract is for three years with a further optional one-year extension.

“Installing ICDs in a well results in delayed water breakthrough because the inflow profile is evened out; this helps operators to maximise the well’s productivity and recovery factor. The contract award highlights our commitment to providing solutions that respond to the oil and gas industry’s needs while maintaining productivity and maximising yield. Our robust solutions help operators overcome the technological challenges they are facing. In addition we are constantly developing our offering to deliver the technology needed by the industry. As an example, we recently enhanced our wireless offering with the launch of the SigNet Wireless Intelligent Completion solution. SigNet was developed in response to market demand and features an interval control valve (ICV) as well as downhole power generation capability that results in extended battery life. SigNet retains the proven monitoring capability of Tendeka’s Wireless PT Gauge. This latest contract award adds to our recent wins in the Middle East,” said Derren Simpson, Tendeka’s vice president for Middle East North Africa. “Earlier this year we secured a contract for the provision of swellable packers for up to 50 wells in Qatar along with contracts to provide our FloQuest rapid data visualisation and interpretation software for an operator in Qatar and Oman. FloQuest is used to assist downhole visualisation in determining future drilling interventions.”
