National Iranian South Oilfields Company (NISOC) plans to increase oil production to more than three million barrels per day.
The managing director of the company, Hamid Bovard, said the new plans are in line with the Oil Ministry’s policies. He said all necessary plans and executive operations are already on course to achieve the goal.
Bovard also made reference to recent a push by Bijan Namdar Zangeneh, Iranian Oil minister to boost production, saying that NISOC is prepared to utilize resources at its disposal to support the agenda.
A key element of the plans aimed at increased production includes drilling and repairing oil wells, the official said, adding, NISOC has carried out more than 77,000 meters of drilling in the first quarter of the current Iranian year which started on March this year.
