Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Co (Orpic) has registered a 4% increase in total production for the first eight months of 2015, according to Muscat Daily.
Total output at the national refining and petrochemicals company’s plants in Muscat and Sohar rose to 56.76mn barrels from 54.57mn barrels in the corresponding period of last year.
According to the data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), regular petrol (90) output fell by 33.8% to 1.62mn barrels, while super petrol (95) production shot up 8.6% to 15.41mn barrels during the January-August period.
Gas oil and virgin naphtha production increased 16.8% and 12% to reach 14.47mn barrels and 2.39mn barrels, respectively.
Aviation fuel rose 5.9% to touch 3.35mn barrels while propylene production marked an 8% jump to 1.87mn barrels over last year.
