BP Oman recently announced the opening of a 55km road related to its Khazzan project.
The road has been constructed between the existing main road in Saih Rawl, and leads to BP Oman’s facilities connecting the Central Processing facility (CPF) area.
The road is expected to support BP Oman’s Khazzan operations by enabling the movement of people and equipment.
BP’s Khazzan project in Oman is due to be operational in 2017. The contract was awarded in May 2014 to Galfar.
The 55-km long road required collaboration between BP, its partners, and contractors, since road has been built through a major wadi.
BP achieved one million safe hours during the construction of this road, local daily Times of Oman reported.
“This is exactly what we expect from all of our contractors, delivering on schedule with all the safety standards being met,” Yousuf Al Ojaili, president of BP Oman, said.
“Progressing towards the delivery of first gas in 2017, we are very proud of the pace of work and progress in a safe manner with Omani companies,” he added.
