ADIPEC: Palfinger

Palfinger says it is committed to its oil and gas and shipyard customers in the Middle East, says Benji George, commercial manager

What are you hopes for this year’s ADIPEC exhibition?
We are a globally active manufacturer of access systems and hull treatment systems for the shipping and offshore industries. Our participation in ADIPEC 2015 is part of our firm’s ongoing commitment to our oil and gas and shipyard customers in the Middle East region. We also intend to make the market aware of the recent rebranding of Palfinger Systems as ‘Hubert Palfinger Technologies GmbH’.

What are the main products and services that you’ll be showcasing?
We are organised into 3 divisions:
1. Hull Treatment: Products are Hull Treatment Carrier (HTC-SD, Junior and HTC-BT).
2. Tank Access: Services are rentals of Internal Tank Platform (ITP-8)
3. Offshore Access: Products are Aerial Platform (AP-14) and Under Platform Access (UPA). Services are rentals of Inspection Platform (IP-11), Rack Crane (RC) and Jack Up Maintenance Platform (JUMP).

How has business been for the company in 2015?
The year 2015 has been good with recently concluded job utilising HTC-SD on Kirill Lavrov at Blom and Voss Repair Hamburg. On normal coatings, so far we have achieved blasting performance of up-to 120 square metres per hour (m2/hr). In the case of Sigmashield-1200 (designed for underwater hull of ice going and ice breaking vessels) we achieved 72 m²/h at 3000 bar, which has set a new benchmark for the industry. We are very excited with our discussions with a premier shipyard in the region and are on the verge of an agreement to have 2 units of Internal Tank Platforms (ITP-8) located in the UAE by year-end.
