ADMA OCPO’s senior project engineer Haitham Abdelatry was named Project Supervisor of the Year 2014 at the Oil and Gas Middle East awards ceremony in Abu Dhabi last night.
Abdelatry was recognised for his work on ADMA OPCO’s ZWSC Modifications Project. As the winner was being presented to the guests, industry experts and nominees, who attended the event, heard that ADMA OPCO’s candidate was the one that stood out the most among all nominations.Â
Abdelatry said: “I want to thank my wife for all the patience and the support. It took a lot of hard work and coordination in the field with other contractors. Everyone worked really hard and thank god we completed it all good. The biggest challenge I faced during the project was time management. It was really stressful having to do a lot of things at a limited amount of time”, Mokthar added. The entry outlined the the candidate was successful in fulfilling all of the project deliverables on time and on schedule, and led a taskforce to minimise the shutdown time during execution.
Abdelatry was the focal point for all the field operations during the installation phase, and participated in risk assessment sessions for the project, and approve all RFIs (Request for Information), TQs (Technical Query), CRs (Concession Request), NCRs (Non Conformity Reports). He has also improved his profile and expertise by making presentations about offshore decommissioning and volunteering with PMI.
Abdelatry is also in the process of receiving his Chartered Engineer certification by the UK Engineering Council. He said: “My next plan is to become a chartered engineer. I am waiting for results to come out now. I have a feeling that I was successful. It will be a good next step for my career.”
Abdelaty was presented with the award by Adnan Dawood, regional general manager- Marketing at FAMCO.
