ADNOC, BP sign MoU for technology centre

BP will provide technical assistance to ADNOC for setting technical standards for works and products

 The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and BP have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for development of a centre for earth surface technology.

The centre’s aims to help improve optimisation and management of oil reservoirs and increase extraction of oil and gas from hydrocarbons in Abu Dhabi.

A joint press release distributed at ADIPEC said that according to the MoU, BP will provide technical assistance to ADNOC for setting technical standards for works and products which will be aimed at improving performance through the enhanced oil recovery (EOR) technique.

The MoU was a result of technical discussions which began between the two oil companies in 2014.

“The MoU will contribute to establishing a pool of Emirati oil and gas experts and upgrading ADNOC readiness, preparedness and resilience to respond to urgent challenges,” Mohammad Al Qubaisi, Director of Exploration and Production, ADNOC, said.
