Sonatrach awards $1bn gas contract to SNC Lavalin

Contract includes construction of gas treatment facility at Hamra

Algerian state-owned hydrocarbons giant Sonatrach has awarded a US$1.08 billion construction contract to Canadian contractor SNC Lavalin.

The contract includes the construction and installation of a gas treatment facility at the Rhourde Nouss Quartzites of Hamra gas field.

The main works of the contract will include the collection of the gas from the Rhourde Nouss Central, Rhourde Nouss South/East , Rhourde Adra and Rhourde Adra South, the treatment of brut gas through one train with a nominal capacity of 10million Sm3 per day. 

The works also include the extraction and the reinjection of CO2 as well as transporting  the produced gas to the pipeline network.
