Lamprell has been awarded a contract to build a new jackup drilling rig for the UAE National Drilling Company (NDC).
The new build will be the ninth rig constructed and delivered by Lamprell to NDC. The company said construction would begin at its facility in Hamriya with planned delivery Q2 2017.
Lamprell, which is currently constructing a total of seven new rigs, added that NDC has the option to order two additional jack-up rigs of the same by 3Q 2015.Â
