3W Networks has been awarded a new contract for the Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Company (ADCO) Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Injection Project in Bab Far North oilfield.
The contract will see 3W Network implement telecommunication, safety and security systems and is the company’s second contract award for ADCO’s fields after the one it won in Q1 this year for the CO2 injection project in Rumaitha North oilfield.
The CO2 oil recovery development project in Bab field will test the injection of carbon dioxide (CO2) into pilot wells in a carbonate reservoir in Abu Dhabi.
Carbon Dioxide Gas will be supplied through a pipeline which terminates in Rumaitha area and will feed CO2 to both Rumaitha and BAB Far North oilfield.
3W Networks will install a 72-km pipeline from Rumaitha to Bab field.
Some of the equipment due to be deployed include a General Alarm System (PAGA), Closed Circuit Television System (CCTV), and Telephone System, which will be used to monitor the gas stream in the area.
The scope of work called for the engineering, design, project management, system integration, testing and commissioning, the company said.
“We are pleased to work again with ADCO in another strategic and innovative project in the oil & gas sector. The CO2 Injection Pilot projects is yet another ground-breaking development in response to the context of natural gas supply and shortage in the industry”, said Walid Gamali, chief executive officer of 3W Networks.
