Emerson Process Management has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) to provide training and technology transfer to KOC operations and maintenance staff.
The automation specialist will work together with Kuwait’s national oil company to promote automation knowledge and identify necessary technical training for KOC’s employees.
The two partners will collaborate on learning and development programmes in order to prepare personnel for future projects as the Gulf operator is looking to upskill its workforce and keep up with the latest industry innovations.
The agreement comes two years after Emerson provided a comprehensive training to KOC engineers in the form of a 19-week ‘boot camp’.
The programme covered field instrumentation, Emerson’s DeltaV automation system, and cyber security, as well as process control, including advanced control and complex control strategies.
It was conducted at Emerson’s regional training centers in the US, at the Austin, Texas, and Marshalltown, Iowa, facilities.
“We would like to thank Kuwait Oil Company for their trust in Emerson’s capabilities, for sharing with us their plan to enhance the capabilities of their employees, and for asking us to be a part of this plan,” said Arif Mustafa, general manager of Emerson in Kuwait.
