Hello and welcome to Oil & Gas Middle East magazine’s annual list of the top 50 oil and gas production companies.
These are challenging times, as the industry grapples with the impact of below par crude oil prices and comes to terms with new realities – circumstances in which operating as an upstream company has become a daunting task in itself.
Quite naturally then, in a period as this, companies that have made it to the power list deserve every bit of the recognition and applause that comes along with the listing. More importantly, it is the leaders who have displayed exemplary leadership to be at the forefront of transforming their companies to become efficient organisations, ready to embrace realities. Our hats come off for these MDs/CEOs/presidents/directors who have led from the front.
This year’s list has been fine-tuned to acknowledge the work of exploration and production (E&P) companies that are active in the Middle East and North Africa region and leaves out oilfield services companies and EPC contractors (for which we will be publishing power lists later in the year) – just to better reflect the core work in the oil and gas world.
As a result, the power list comprises a whole host of NOCs and IOCs who are making a difference everyday to the operations of the regional upstream sector.
