BP appoints new boss for Russia

David Campbell appointed new president of BP Russia

British Oil giants, BP have announced the appointment of a new man to head their business in Russia. The newly appointed president David Campbell will be mandated to maintain the company’s longstanding presence in Russia and report directly to BP Group Chief Executive, Bob Dudley.

Mr. Campbell who was previously chief operating officer for BP in Iraq is expected to consolidate a number of leadership positions when he takes office in Russia.

Currently working in London as head of the group chief executive’s office, Campbell’s move to Moscow should be hitch free as he has previously worked in Russia with the defunct joint venture, TNK-BP. His 30 years of experience in BP has seen him take on a cross-section of positions, both corporate and technical.

“I have worked closely with David and know that he has a huge breadth of experience and a deep understanding of the global energy industry. He has significant experience of working in Russia and will play a central role in shaping BP’s future and activities in one of the world’s most important oil and gas regions”, said group chief executive Bob Dudley.

David Campbell’s appointment takes effect immediately.
