Top EPC Partner profile: Alderley

Interviewee: Gigi korah, MD, Alderley FZE

Which are the major oil and gas clients that you work with in the region and what is your scope of work with them?

Alderley designs and manufactures both bespoke single- and multi-level integrated modular packages for oil and gas onshore and offshore applications, for major oil and gas operators including Kuwait Oil Company, Saudi Aramco, Kuwait National Petroleum Company, Qatargas, Qatar Petroleum, RasGas, and ADCO, as well as international EPCs operating in the region, such as Fluor, Daelim, and Petrofac. This list of clients will expand, as we are now positioned for re-entry into Iran and are growing our services portfolio.

What major contracts has the company won recently?

We are preparing the KOC Telemetry project for first fluids at an estimated value of more than $45mn, and are currently putting the finishing touches to Saudi Aramco’s Jazan Refinery and Terminal Project, which has a total value of more than $35mn. Recently, we commissioned the QP Mesaieed Integration project at around $8mn, and both the Master Gas projects in Saudi at approximately $5.5mn. Also, the Clean Fuels metering systems at Mina Ahmadi in Kuwait are due commissioning.

How do you expect your company to perform in the second half of 2017? Have you won any contracts or deals this year?

The company has invested significantly in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the acquisition of new facilities. The new facility, located at the Second Industrial City in Dammam, is a total of 9,025m². It will quadruple the capacity of our existing site in Dammam and will increase our supply-chain capabilities.

Providing through-life support services means we have now secured a total of eight maintenance contracts across four different countries in the Middle East region. These contracts will ensure on-going service work and spin-offs with upgrade work to serve the customers.

We have also recently signed a 10-year licensing agreement with Energy Recovery Inc (ERI), to be the exclusive system integrator of its IsoBoost and IsoGen systems for gas processing and pipeline applications in the Middle East. This agreement further strengthens our strategy to expand beyond our current core business and be a value-add to our clients.

In terms of capital projects, we have secured a number of projects this year, including the King Hamad International Airport Jet Fuel Metering project at QP, gas metering automation systems for Dhahran, a hydrogen refuelling station for Air Liquide, asphalt top-loading skids for Ras Tanura, and a Bahrain Aluminium project through BAPCO.
