NPCC wins major Aramco contract for 4 offshore platforms and pipelines

NPCC is to supply four offshore platforms and associated submarine pipelines, cables and tie -ins for Saudi Aramco’s Al Safaniya, Zuluf and Berri oilfields

The National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) has won a major contract from Saudi oil giant Aramco, marking the latest step in a streak of successes for the Abu Dhabi-based EPC contractor in Saudi Arabia.

NPCC is to supply four offshore platforms and associated submarine pipelines, cables and tie -ins for Aramco’s Al Safaniya, Zuluf and Berri oilfields.

“These EPC contracts for Al Safaniya, Zuluf and Berri oilfields include engineering, procurement, fabrication, load-out, transportation, installation, hook-up and pre-commissioning work of four offshore platforms (SSS wellhead decks) with the associated four subsea pipelines, three submarine cables and downstream tie-ins” NPCC’s CEO, Aqeel A Madhi, was quoted in the press release received by arabianoilandgas.com.

Execution of these two new orders will take up to 23 months and work is expected to be completed by June 2019, according to Madhi.

“(The) NPCC team is qualified and well-trained, with years of experience of delivering such projects on budget and schedule with NOCs and IOCs,” Madhi said.

This third contract comes under the scope of the long-term agreement (LTA) between Saudi Aramco and NPCC, signed in October 2016, as part of which the latter is to cater to Aramco’s offshore oil and gas producing platforms and related facilities in the Gulf.

Under the six-year agreement Aramco has entered into with NPCC and other contactors, the service providers will be responsible for delivering a number of offshore oil and gas producing platforms, tie-in platforms, pipelines, power cables, and all related facilities, required as part of the current Master Plan for Aramco’s offshore fields.

Madhi believes entering into such a strategic partnership with a global energy major like Aramco, is an endorsement of NPCC’s potential and performance.

In its pursuit of growth, NPCC will continue to explore ways to increasing its share of the international oil and gas EPC market by considering new growth opportunities.
