A fire which broke out at Kuwait’s Greater Burgan oil field has slightly injured two workers, Kuwait Oil Company said, and their conditions are stable. The company noted that production was not affected by the fire, which it described as “limited”.

The workers are from a contracting company, and were immediately moved to Al-Ahmadi hospital, according to Qusai Al Amer, KOC’s spokesperson and deputy CEO of administrative affairs.

KOC firefighters and response teams controlled the fire, which “had no impact on oil production operations,” he said.

While the cause of the fire was not revealed, Al Amer said that an investigation would be launched to discover its origin.
