 Oil & gas services provider Ali & Sons Oilfield Supplies & Services (ASOS) a subsidiary of Ali & Sons Co. LLC has struck a major deal with NDC Abu Dhabi. ASOS will install, commission and provide after sales services for Bentec top drives.
The first turnkey project undertaken sees the installation of four top drives, worth more than $10 million supplied, installed and commissioned on onshore rigs namely, ND24, ND32, ND33 and the Al Etihad offshore rig. The agreement also includes the maintenance of the high end Bentec top drives.
“This is yet another milestone in the history of ASOS and Bentec. This is the first time that Bentec top drives shall be commissioned in the United Arab Emirates. These high end top drives are a premium product coming from our German partner and are a preferred choice for quality-conscious rig owners. The Bentec top drives were an obvious selection compared Cameron and NOV who were bidding for the same. We are confident that the top drives will prove to be a great choice and our services shall take care of the rest,” said Zahi Haju, director at ASOS.
The deal was signed on 1st of December, 2013 and the commissioning is expected by the end of April. ASOS has already delivered the top drives in a record four weeks. The team of engineers are currently working on the installation and commissioning on the rigs.
