UK- based service company AnTech announced the opening of its first office in Saudi Arabia following a significant investment from Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures (SAEV) and Calculus Capital.
The new office will be based in the city of Al-Khobar in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom.
AnTech said it will be one of only three BHA providers to be offering a Directional Coiled Tubing Drilling (DCTD) service in the region, competing against two of the world’s largest oilfield service corporations.
The company will manage its sales and operations with the help of its Saudi-based agent Anas Al-Shuwayer Contracting (ASCE).
Speaking at the first for the Kingdom DCTD workshop, organised by AnTech, managing director Toni Miszewski said: “This launch heralds another exciting period of growth for AnTech.
“The Middle East is a critical target market for our business, where many of our clients already operate, and the backing of SAEV and Calculus Capital has provided us with the wherewithal to bring our tools, services and skills to the area.
“We can now truly demonstrate AnTech’s specialist DCTD services, which we believe will provide significant benefits to the region.”
SAEV management added: “Directional Coiled Tubing Drilling services are in great use in Saudi Arabia, and we believe that AnTech’s products will allow DCTD methods to be applied to a wider variety of applications, with lower costs and improved outcomes.”
