ADIPEC NEWS: AlMansoori ties up with UK’s Camcon

Abu Dhabi firm will deliver DIAL & APOLLO solutions to local markets

ADIPEC BREAKING NEWS:

Camcon Oil, a provider of innovative solutions to the oil and gas industry, announced at ADIPEC that it has signed a distribution agreement with the AlMansoori Specialized Engineering, one of the Middle East’s most successful oilfield services companies.

The three-year agreement will give AlMansoori ‘Group Distribution Partner’ status and the rights to sell, install and support Camcon Oil products throughout the Middle East. The countries covered by the agreement are the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Libya, Kuwait, Iran, Iraq, Bahrain & Yemen.

AlMansoori will focus its initial activities on Camcon’s new Digital Intelligent Artificial Lift (DIAL) solution, APOLLO, which provides operators with unprecedented control and precision over gas injection with a minimising of gas usage and a maximising of oil extraction.

“This is a significant milestone for Camcon Oil as we move from product qualification to market acceptance,” said Ian Anderson, Camcon’s Chief Operating Officer.

“At a time when there is an increased focus throughout the Middle East on bolstering recovery rates, we believe that APOLLO is a truly industry-changing product, bringing digital, real-time control to the production process and saving millions in unnecessary shut-downs and well interventions.”

He concludes: “With such an outstanding product, it was vital to us that we partnered with the best in the region and in the Al Mansoori Group, we have done just that. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.”

His words were backed up by Foroohar Farzadnia, corporate marketing and business development director at Al Mansoori:

“AlMansoori prides itself on embracing the latest innovations as a means of addressing the needs of our customer base throughout the upstream Middle East oil and gas sector.

“We are subsequently delighted to be partnering with Camcon Oil and forming a key element of their distribution strategy. APOLLO is addressing some of the most pertinent issues in the Middle Eastern oil & gas sector today and we look forward to taking the messages of ‘real-time gas injection control’ and ‘deployment without intervention’ to operators.”

With oil & gas demand continuing to grow and exploration taking place in ever more remote areas, one of the biggest challenges for the oil & gas industry is increasing recovery rates from existing fields. While artificial gas lift has been viewed as a key means of achieving this, operators still have remarkably little information on pressure and temperatures at the point of gas injection, as well as no control or flexibility in being able to alter injection rates without intervention and the shutting down of production. The result is the constant danger of well instability and high intervention costs.

APOLLO is based on Camcon’s Binary Actuation Technology (BAT) and will enable operators to vary injection rates in real-time without production interruption and well intervention, and generate pressure and temperature information throughout the gas injection process – all features that current artificial gas lift solutions cannot provide. Trials of the new solution are currently taking place with an oil operator who is providing support and access to its rig and multiphase test facilities, with live well deployment scheduled in the near future.

Camcon Oil’s APOLLO provides accurate gas injection control and flexibility from a single asset through a series of digitally operated valves, enabling the real-time setting of injection rates. Camcon’s patented actuators use extremely low power to switch and are multiplexed, keeping cabling requirements to the surface to a minimum and all control signals at low voltage.
