Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and Etihad Airways have teamed up to celebrated the 89th Saudi National Day. Etihad will launch a series of aircraft liveries which pay tribute to ADNOC’s international trading markets and partners, as well as destinations that are served by the airline, according to state news agency WAM.

The first of the series is a Saudi-Arabian themed Boeing Dreamliner 787-9 on the EY317 and EY 318 which travels between Abu Dhabi and Riyadh.

“The UAE has experienced unprecedented growth and development in the last 50 years and is now a global leader in aviation,” said Ahmed Al Qubaisi, vice president of government, international and communications and Etihad. “Etihad, its pioneering national airline, together with major Abu Dhabi partners such as ADNOC, represent the best of what Abu Dhabi has to offer to the world.

“As forces for positive growth and development in the markets we serve, we share a responsibility to ensure that these relationships are nurtured for the benefit of everyone. This striking livery represent this pledge,” he continued.

The livery features Islamic calligraphy and Mashrabiya latticework in Saudi Arabia’s national colours. The airline will also offer special fares from Saudi Arabia as part of the celebration.
