Oman to host summit for offshore industry experts

The event, organised by the Ministry of Oil and Gas, will look at design, engineering, construction, operation, risk and safety associated with the various types for offshore platforms for the sultanate.

Some of the discussions at the two-day simposium will also aim to explore the best platform to support the requirements of the field, and the engineering and technological requirements to establish and operate.

As part of the symposium, innovative technologies and ground-breaking solutions within the offshore exploration and production industry will be showcased.The exhibition, accompanying the conference, will present innovations and development projects of offshore fields.

Oman’s domestic oil and gas sector will also be on focus, as the forum will aim to address the strategic, commercial, technology and regulatory issues that could play a significant part in shaping the industry’s future. Also on the radar will be a call to attract foreign investment in offshore blocks for a number of concessions offered by the Omani government for exploration and development.
