The National Iranian Tanker Company has reported a technical defect with one of its vessels currently in the Red Sea, but noted that it was in stable condition

The National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) has reported a technical defect in one of its vessels in the Red Sea, according to state energy news agency SHANA. It also said that the crew were working to solve the issue, and that the vessel remained in stable and safe condition.

NITC reported that the HELM vessel had a technical issue 75 kilometres off of the Yanbu port, in the Red Sea. 

“The ship’s crew are fixing the defect and the vessel is in stable and safe condition,” said Akbar Jebel Ameli, technical director of NITC, according to SHANA. “Fortunately, the ship’s crew are in safe condition,” he said. “The necessary steps are being taken to fix the problem; the crew are fully prepared and are working to fix the problem.”
